Charlotte Sigurdson is a multidisciplinary artist from Winnipeg, Canada. Charlotte was born in Toronto and lived all over Canada and in Europe, before making her home in the prairies.
She began her artistic career as a doll maker, creating bespoke dolls for children. Over time, her work has evolved away from toys, though dolls remain a source of inspiration. Charlotte now practices in a variety of mediums including oil paint, textiles, ceramics, wood and goldwork.
Charlotte’s work explores the human condition the ways in which our inner worlds interact with the world at large. Her paintings focus on the human form juxtaposed with surreal elements and bold colours and patterns. Similarly, her doll work combines realism with abstraction and exaggerated forms.
Charlotte has exhibited her work in various exhibitions including several solo shows in Winnipeg.
